About this experience
Come to Royal Delft and meet the pride survivor of a glorious history!
From the nearly 32 potteries that were established in the 17th Century, Royal Delft, founded in 1653, is the only Delftware factory left in Delft.
This makes it a national heritage and an unmissable destination in your Holland holiday!
In this factory, the world-famous Royal Delftware is still entirely hand-painted following the centuries-old tradition. The prefix ‘Royal’ was added back in 1919 confirming the close relationship with the Dutch Royal family.
Visiting Royal Delft you will take a voyage into the entire history and the production process of Delft Blue and Royal Delft, thanks to careful designed audiovisual presentations.
You will also have the privilege to see a painter at work! Then you will enter the two special themed chambers: the dining room of Johannes Vermeer, maybe the most famous person ever born in Delft and the Royal Chambers showing the collection of Orange Ceramics that has been produced specifically for Dutch Royal family over the past centuries.
This collection will show you both antique and modern pieces of Delft Blue so you can get a coherent understanding of the unique art of hand-painted ceramics.
Royal Delft also proposes workshops to teach you the hand-painting art.
At the end of the tour, you can chill out at the Brasserie located in a wonderful courtyard which serves delicious coffee, tea, lunches, and High Tea.
Do not miss this chance and make a very Dutch experience!
