About this experience
Explore the genuine and authentic side of Malta! Come with us, discover the strange and beautiful natural spectacles at the Blue Grotto and then meet the fishermen of Marsaxlokk, with their lively market!
Our first stop will be The Blue Grotto.
The Blue Grotto the collective name given to a number of sea caverns on the southern coast of Malta, west of the Wied iz-Zurrieq harbor and across the small deserted islet of Filfla.
Every day from sunrise until about midday, a unique spectacle can be observed here. The cave’s position combined with the sunlight lead to the water mirroring shows numerous shades of blue.
Various caverns mirror the bright phosphorescent colors of the underwater flora; other caverns show a deep dark shade of blue. A phenomenon you can't miss.
If the weather is good, you can take a 25-minute boat trip around the caves for an extra cost.
Then we will visit the fishing village of Marsaxlokk. Marsaxlokk is a very beloved attraction by tourists and a place to go for locals because fresh fish and seafood caught during the same morning can be bought.
The market is very appealing and charming as many different items are sold. The market was formerly just a fish market, but it has developed and now it also sells regionally produced honey, fruit jams, wine as well as vegetables, souvenirs and clothes.
You will have some free time to explore this unique and picturesque village.
