About this experience
Our first stop will be at Palazzo Parisio.
Situated in the center of picturesque Naxxar, this 18th Century Palace is a wunderkammer that requests to be explored.
Thanks to our carefully designed visit, you will discover the intricate nuances of Malta’s historic aristocracy and their charming & fancy way of life. This unique experience will offer great insight into the history and it will spark the imagination – whether you find yourself looking for inspiration from the Grand Ballroom, the detailed Family Chapel or the wonderful walled Gardens and Orangery.
Our next visit is Clapham Junction. Clapham Junction, which its true name is Misrah Ghar il-Kbir, is covered with a very obscure and mysterious groove in the rock. Experts say the are ancient roadways of some sort. But they do not seem to be directly connected to the building of any of Malta’s megalithic site, and they do cross the small island and you can find it mostly on the higher and rockier surfaces.
There can be a lot of them in the same zone, beside each other.
Other times they are a solitary pair that can go on for kilometers. One of the puzzles and difficulties of Malta’s ancient and great history is that there are no records left of it by those who lived here. No written word or pictorial illustration was left by the Temple Builders and Cart Rut users.
They were nicknamed this way by an Englishman who said that they reminded him of the busy railway station Clapham Junction in London.
You will then drive to The Buskett Gardens, found in the lush
valley of Wied il-Luq, Siggiewi. The gardens show their best face in springtime but they offer shade from the harsh mid- Summer sun and offer a peaceful place for a walk in the Winter months.
Verdala Palace is an official residence of the President of Malta, and it is situated on the bank of the edge of the Gardens.
Here we will have a lovely coffee break, included in this tour, where you will try the delicious and traditional “Pastizzi”.
The last stop of our tour is by Dingli Cliffs, a suggestive place you will find less than a kilometer to the south west of the picturesque village of Dingli. The cliffs are 220 meters above sea level making them the highest point in Malta!
An isolated chapel completes the fascinating atmosphere of this magical place. It was build in the 17th century and the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene offers the best views you can get from these cliffs.
From there we will even able to see the tiny uninhabited islet of Filfla.
During this experience, you will tour onboard a Vintage Bus, a wonderful & unique bus from the past, now so rare to see on the Maltese Islands.
