Valletta, also known as Il-Belt, shows a precious historical heritage and its buildings dating from the 16th century onwards. Many were built during the kingdom of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem, also known as Knights Hospitaller. The city is more than other Baroque in style with elements of Mannerist, Neo-Classical and Modern architecture in some areas, through World War II left major scars on the city.

The City of Valletta was officially acknowledged as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1980.
The capital is named after Jean Parisot de la Valette, who is celebrated because won against the Ottoman invasion in 1565. The official name was given by the Order of Saint John and it was ‘Humilissima Civitas Valletta’which means The Most Humble City of Valletta or Citta’ Umilissima in Italian.
The bastions, curtains, and ravelins along with the beauty of its Baroque churches, squares, and gardens influenced the royal houses from of Europe to nickname the city Superbissima, which means Most Proud.
During this exclusive walking tour, we will stroll around the lively streets of the historical center and reach Barracca Gardens, notable for their stunning views on the Grand Harbour. Then we will move to St. John’s Co-Cathedral where we will admire the painting ‘The Beheading of Saint John the Baptist’ by Caravaggio, considered one of Caravaggio’s
