Borghese Gallery and Gardens tour
Discover the amazing Borghese Gallery, inside the best garden in Rome! Explor this stunning art collection showning masterpieces from Antique and Modern Era, featuring the geniuses of Italian Renaissance.
About this experience
Discover the Borghese Gallery and its amazing Gardens during our charming and relaxing semi-private group tour. We want to keep our groups small: 12 people maximum. This is the right way to go through one of the world’s excellent art collections: it will be individual and slow-paced and you will always keep full intercommunication with your qualified tour guide.
Moreover, the whole gallery has its own limit: 260 visitors per session, therefore it is one of the most private art experiences Rome has to offer!
We will start our tour with an overture of one of Rome’s most beautiful Villa and its gardens: Villa Borghese. Once inside the Gallery, your expert local guide will tell you everything about Caravaggio, Titian and Raphael’s paintings, Bernini’s famous sculptures such as: Apollo and Daphne, the Rape of Persephone, the David and many others. You will se with your own eyes why the Borghese collection is regarded as one of the most notable art galleries in the world.
The Cardinal Scipione Borghese was a real connoisseur of art; he loved the Antique and the Modern, both Roman and Greek art and the Renaissance one. The cardinal’s great passion for art and his desire to own the best works of art available around pushed him to choose rather unorthodox methods of procurement: for example, he sent his guards to Perugia to steal Raphael’s masterpiece the “Deposition of Christ”!
We do not approve these methods... still this is the reason why, today, you can visit a museum like Borghese Gallery!
The Borghese Gallery is immersed in the peacefulness and charm of the surrounding gardens, therefore it is a true enjoyment for the senses and one of the most satisfying situations Rome has to offer.
