Exclusive Alone In St. Mark's Basilica After Hours
About this experience
Come with us and visit St. Mark’s like almost no one else… almost alone!
Meet this symbol of Venice without the lines or crowds. A Basilica guard will unlock the doors just for us and its small groups of a maximum of fifteen guests. It’s the ultimate in VIP offer, and the most unique way to visit St. Mark’s Basilica: you will not forget it easily!
You will meet your guide at St. Mark’s Square. You will learn everything about the history of Venice: our friendly and professional guide will tell you breathtaking anecdotes and swashbuckling stories about St. Mark’s Basilica—like how it received its inestimable relics via a 9th-century kidnapping!
When our tour will start, all passersby will ask themselves where you’re going as a custodian unlocks the basilica’s doors for you our little group.
Once inside, take a deep breath. You are going to experience the Basilica just like the Doge did in the past—empty!
No standing elbow-to-elbow with other visitors, no seeing the church enlightened by hundreds of popping flashbulbs, no noise from the crowds. Your small group, the guide, and the custodian. So you can have an authentic experience of the basilica: in tranquility and peace.
You will also skip all the lines—not just to get inside the basilica but also to see the Pala d’Oro, the sensational, Byzantine altarpiece that uses more than 1,900 gems!
During the day, there are lines to admire it. Now? No one.
Alone in the Basilica, we will visit areas normally closed to the public. Like the crypt, which the custodian will open for us. This is the place where, in the past, they kept the bones of St. Mark.
Moreover, night is the best time to come here because the mosaics are at their peak of beauty. All 43,000 square feet are lit up, glimmering and sparkling in the dark!
Above all, you will be always with our friendly and professional guide. Our guides love Venice and its history and they are glad to share their knowledge with you in the most fun way possible. You will listen to any kind of stories, anecdotes, and curiosities about how St. Mark’s became St. Mark’s and this magnificent church.
Do not miss this chance and live an unforgettable day inside St. Mark's Basilica.
