Glassblowing was first invented by ancient Romans and coincided with the establishment of the Roman Empire in the 1st century BC, which intensified the spread and dominance of this new technology. Glassblowing was considerably supported by the Roman administration (even if Roman citizens could not be "in trade", in particular under the reign of Augustus), and glass was being blown in many areas of the Roman world.
In Venice, glassblowing art came to stay. This millennium-long tradition is still alive and you will see by yourself.
After the theory, there's the practice. The master craftsman will help you along with the whole activity letting you create a unique and inimitable work art.
