St Peter’s Basilica and Mosaic School guided tour
About this experience
Combine a guided walking tour of St. Peter’s Basilica with a visit to the Vatican Mosaic School. Start your tour in St. Peter’s Square and reach the Basilica. Learn more about the world’s biggest church and explore all its corners.
Admire artistic highlights such as the mosaics of the Dome or the Michelangelo’s Pietà statue.
Visit the tomb of St. John Paul II, one of the most important figures of all time.
It’s a little-known fact that St. Peter’s Basilica doesn't have any paintings, but that its walls are instead adorned with stunning mosaics. So, there’s a very good reason to know more about this art and pay a visit to the Mosaic Studio.
Meet artisans who work on the restoration of historical mosaic pieces and learn more about their techniques.
